Planning small group instruction, incorporating technology into mathematics classrooms, and tackling the difficult topics in CCSSM Standards for grades 6 and 7 are the focus of this professional development. Led by Dan Wicks, the session emphasizes the content around number sense (specifically fractions), ratio and proportion, solving equations, and surface area/volume.
Wicks has eleven years experience teaching in grades 6, 7, and 8 and helped to create and deliver both Partners for Mathematics Learning and TAP Math professional development. An outstanding teacher, he has taught at MMSI since 2009.
Registration is first come first served. The registration fee includes all materials and lunch on workshop days; breakfast and dinner are included for those staying in a Meredith dormitory when requested with this registration.
