COUNTY TEACHERS RECEIVE IPADS TO USE IN CLASSROOM

Davidson County Schools recognized 10 teachers at the school board meeting Monday who were the recipients of iPad sets. The educators went through a grant application process to receive the technology. A total of 101 teachers applied. The applications were reviewed and scored based on a rubric.

The winners included: Debbie Dawson of Hasty Elementary; Shannon Fussell of Pilot Elementary; Andria Roberson of Southwood Elementary; Elizabeth Dempsey of Ledford Middle; Janelle Burkholder of North Davidson Middle School; Emily Sarvis of E. Lawson Brown Middle; Kathy Lynn of North Davidson High; John Allen of South Davidson High; Brian Eddinger of East Davidson High; and Kara Wood of West Davidson High.

The teachers will each receive 30 iPads, 30 cases with keyboards and a cart for syncing and charging. Funds from Race to the Top helped pay a portion of the items.
