KENNEDY GETS GRANT TO EXPAND PROGRAMS
An infusion of more than $500,000 will bolster college- and career-readiness programs at Kennedy High School starting in the fall. The magnet high school with a focus on career preparation received a $350,000 grant from the state’s Education and Workforce Innovation Fund. Paired with matching funds from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools district and private partners, Kennedy will have $525,000 to spend over the next five years. The fund was created in the 2013 legislative session to support programs in North Carolina that combine academic rigor and skills development.
