INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE AUTHORIZES NC'S FIRST IBCC SCHOOL

The students at Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, North Carolina will soon have another option to choose from when it comes to high-quality preparation for college and career readiness.  Jacksonville High School was recently authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate’s newest educational program, the International Baccalaureate Career-related Certificate, or IBCC.

The IBCC meets the needs of schools looking for a technical or career related studies track that not only provides students with a career-related competency, but is rigorous enough academically to leave them well prepared for university study.

Dr. Donna Lynch, Principal of Jacksonville High School said, “we have been offering the IB’s flagship diploma program since 2007 and are excited to bring on the IBCC as a way to broaden opportunities for our students who are ready to specialize in a career-related track and want the flexibility of going directly into the work force or onto university studies. The IBCC fits our student profile perfectly.”
