For computers it is important to review requirements for specific software/hardware used as well as current market standards.

Check state contracts at this address:

All teachers should have easy access to the telephone, e-mail, and the Internet, preferably in the classroom or teacher's office. These general equipment items, as well as the provision of normal classroom furniture/equipment (teacher-desks and chairs, student desks, air conditioners, etc.) are the full responsibility of the local education agency (LEA). The LEA is also responsible for the enhancement of facilities as well as the purchase and installation of items that are attached to the facility in a permanent way (ex: kitchen cabinets, cooling and/or heating systems, sinks, etc.). In addition, classrooms are expected to meet local and state safety standards.

Career and Technical Education funds may be used to provide specialized equipment and laboratory furniture required to operate the programs in the Standard Course of Study. Every equipment item identified in this document must be viewed accordingly. Some are eligible to be purchased with Career and Technical Education funds, and some are the responsibility of the local education agency.
