MONTH PROCESS
SCHOOL/LEA
February-March Teacher of the Year applications and information mailed to LEAs and to Charter Schools
February - August Each school and LEA selects its Teacher of the Year from among school nominees
September LEA Teacher of the Year portfolios submitted (original and four copies) to Regional Educational Facilitator (REF) (pdf, 573kb)
REGIONAL
October - November Portfolios assessed, interviews conducted, on-site school visits and classroom observations are conducted.
December Regional Teachers of the Year announced
STATE
April-May Formal interviews conducted and State Teacher of the Year announced
Teacher of the Year Awards event scheduled for May
