|Nov 22, 2013||NCDPI has experienced some performance concerns with the Instructional Improvement System (IIS or Schoolnet) training environment over the last few weeks.||Pearson is bringing down the IIS training site (homebasetraining.schoolnet.com) at 6 p.m. 11/22/13. LEAs/charters should suspend IIS training activities involving the training site until 12/9/13. This only affects the training environment; this does not affect your actual Schoolnet site. We will work to move the training environment to a new data center with an upgraded hardware/software operating environment and will sufficiently test the training environment to ensure that it is operating as designed with sufficient response time. Thank you for your patience as we make improvements to your Instructional Improvement System test environment.||We plan to bring the training environment back online starting 12/9/13, and will notify all LEAs/charter schools once it is available again.|
|Nov. 7, 2013||Users from several LEAs reported very slow response time in Schoolnet this morning, 11/7/2013 for a few hours before 10:45 AM.||11/20/13: Pearson is continually working on addressing performance issues as a priority.
11/8/2013: End-users reported slow system response times today. Pearson is working to resolve the issues.
11/7/2013: Pearson identified the problem and corrected it at by 10:45 AM.
|Nov. 5, 2013||Several LEAs have reported problems with students taking assessments today. Some students are having trouble getting into Schoolnet to take the assessment while others have had issues with submitting assessments.||11/20/2013: Fixes for the Assessment Admin module have been incorporated in Release 15.2. The upgrade to this release will be communicated once the release is ready for deployment.
11/5/2013: NCDPI is working with Pearson to diagnose and resolve the issue.
|Oct. 24, 2013||Some LEAs have reported that when building benchmark assessments, when they save an item, they get the Our Apologies error. However, when they reopen the assessment, the item indeed saved. They get the same result when deleting an item. They get the Our Apologies error, but when they reopen the assessment, the item was successfully deleted.||11/20/2013: Fixes for the Assessment Admin module have been incorporated in Release 15.2. The upgrade to this release will be communicated once the release is ready for deployment.
10/29/2013: NCDPI and Pearson have confirmed with LEAs that this issue has been resolved by the 10/24/2013 configuration changes.
10/25/2013: Pearson made some configuration changes on 10/24/2013 that may have corrected this issue. At present, Pearson has been unable to duplicate the issue following the corrected configuration. If you experience the Our Apologies error while creating a benchmark assessment, please log a ticket with the Home Base Support Center and include the following information: name and UID of the user creating the assessment, date and time of the action, LEA or charter school name, browser type and version, device type (laptop, ipad, chromebook, etc.), and network connection (hardwired, wireless, cellular) and a phone number where we may reach you.
10/24/2013: Pearson is evaluating the issue and has placed a very high priority on correcting it.
|Partially resolved 10/24/2013; issues have reappeared. Targeting 11/25 for 15.2 release.|
|Oct. 22, 2013||Several LEAs have reported problems logging into Schoolnet and NCEES after logging into PowerSchool. Some LEAs receive a white screen, and others are receiving an error message that reads, opensaml..FatalProfileException error.||10/29/2013: Some LEAs still reporting intermittant login errors. Still seeing the opensaml..FatalProfileException error.
10/24/2013: Pearson believes that they have resolved the login problems as of 5:00 PM on 10/24/2013. Network Latency problems caused timeouts during single signon (SSO) to either Schoolnet or the Educator Evaluation System (NCEES). 10/22/2013: When you receive this error, please note the following information, and report it to the Home Base Support Center, UID and name of the user getting the error, the district, specifically what you were doing when you got the error, the browser type and version. Pearson needs this information in order diagnose the issues. Also, please include your phone number when you log the ticket. NCDPI will be contacting a few users to work with us directly until the issue is resolved.
|Partially resolved 10/24/2013. Continuing to collect information. Appears to be network timeout issues that are exasterbased by local network performance.|
|Oct. 15, 2013||When creating benchmark assessments, several teachers have reported problems with the test item numbering. For example, the test may be numbered 1, 5, 10, 11, 12, 15. Users have reported that they are able to correct the numbering when in private draft, but when they publish the test to make it Pubic, the numbering problem returns.||11/20/2013: Fixes for the Assessment Admin module have been incorporated in Release 15.2. The upgrade to this release will be communicated once the release is ready for deployment.
10/25/2013: This issue is scheduled for Release 15.2, which is currently scheduled to be in Production by 11/17/2013.
10/24/2013: This appears to be an intermittant problem, and Pearson is having difficulting consistently replicating. If you experience this problem, please log a detailed ticket with the Home Base Support Center.
10/15/2013: Pearson is working on correcting the issue.
|Targeted for 11/8/2013|
|Sep 17, 2013||Some LEAs have reported that some of their district staff are unable to build benchmark assessments in Schoolnet.||School and LEA data managers should ensure that the affected district staff members have been granted the appropriate Schoolnet roles for creating and administering assessments. Along with assigning the district staff a default role (Leadership or Staff), data managers will need to add the additional roles of Test Item Administrator and Access to Assessment Management.||Roles and Permissions|
|Sep 16, 2013||Schools and LEAs are having trouble getting the Scanit software to work with Schoolnet.||10/18/2013: Documented procedures for district testing coordinatores and IT staffs to use to set up local scanners to interface with Schoolnet and the Scanit software are located at the following link: http://www.ncpublicschools.org/docs/homebase/training/materials/schoolnet/classroom-benchmark/20131017-nc-scanit-guide.pdf

9/17/2013: NCDPI and Pearson have worked with one LEA to successfully set up Scanit and then scan benchmark assessments for grades 3-12. NCDPI is working with Pearson to document directions to help LEAs and schools set up Scanit with Schoolnet.
9/16/2013: DPI is working with Pearson to rectify the issue and will document directions to help LEAs and schools set up Scanit with Schoolnet.
