NEWS RELEASES 2015-16 :: MAY 11, 2016


This Thursday, May 12, school bus drivers from across the state will gather at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh to demonstrate their skill, knowledge and professionalism at the School Bus Driving Competition – also known as the School Bus Driver ROADeo. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Martin Building. The driving course is set up in the Midway area.

Thirty-two school bus drivers will participate in the final testing and driving competition to crown the top school bus driver in North Carolina. The winner will receive a cash prize and an all expense paid trip to represent North Carolina in the international school bus driving competition, which will be held this summer in Greensboro.

Thirty of the drivers advanced to the state finals by placing in the top 10 of a regional competition. Most regional participants also advanced through a local ROADeo sponsored by their school system.
