MISSION :: The mission of the Office of Professional Development is to provide leadership, technical assistance, resources and consultative services to the North Carolina public and charter schools with the goal of improving student learning and achievement through organizational development and professional learning.

We are pleased to have many educational partners working with us across the state, including the North Carolina Association of School Administrators (NCASA), NC Principals and Assistant Principals Association (NCPAPA), NC Professional Teaching Standards Commission (NCPTSC), NC Association of Educators (NCAE), NC Teacher Academy, the UNC System of Colleges and Universities, and all NC Regional Educational Service Alliances (RESAs).

Please visit our website often to be kept abreast of upcoming professional development opportunities and information related to the new standards for all North Carolina professionals.

The Calendar serves as an internal and external database of professional development opportunities offered across the state. If there is an event you would like to publicize on our PD Calendar, please email professional_development@dpi.state.nc.us to access the PD Approval Request Form.
