PUBLIC NOTICES 2011-12
ARRA CONTRACT ALERT -- SARTOX SUNPAC BAAS
In accordance with the North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery & Investment policy regarding procurements utilizing American Recovery & Re-Investment Act funding, the Purchasing & Contracts Section of the NC Department of Public Instruction will be posting a "Notice of Intent" to award a contract to Sartox, LLC for the purpose of incorporating changes to their budget software package (named SunPac), that will work with the new Budget and Amendment System (BAAS) at NC DPI. The current Departmental financial system is the Budget Utilization Development (BUD) system, and is currently used by the LEAs to: record financial information, post it to their general ledger, and transmit it to NC DPI. The BUD system will be replaced by the BAAS, and the BAAS is expected to provide a better mechanism (than the BUD system) for collecting and reporting FTEs while meeting all of the 1512 Federal Reporting requirements. The SunPac budget software package is one of four software budget packages which will need to be enhanced, in order to work with the BAAS project. The other 3 software budget packages include: ISIS from Education Management Systems, Oracle Financials from Wake County Public School System, and Lawson from Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Schools. It is imperative that the Department obtain the needed modifications of the SunPac software for the BAAS project, in order to complete the requirements listed in the Education Jobs federal grant or risk the loss of funds. This relationship has been in place since 1995. A "Notice of Intent" for this award will be posted on the NC Department of Administration, Division of Purchase and Contract's Interactive Purchasing System (IPS) on Monday, January 9, 2012. Questions resulting from this notice may be directed to Mike Beaver, Purchasing Agent III, Purchasing & Contracts Section, 919.807.3683; or , email@example.com
