PUBLIC NOTICES 2011-12 :: APRIL 10, 2012

RACE TO THE TOP CONTRACT ALERT – APPLE INC.

In accordance with the North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery & Investment policy regarding procurements utilizing American Recovery & Re-Investment Act funding, the Purchasing & Contracts Section of the NC Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) will be posting a "Notice of Intent" to award a contract to Apple Inc. for the purpose of purchasing Apple iPad devices and accessories under State Term Contract 204N and classified as an Academic Purchase.  This purchase request is for the NC Virtual Public Schools and will be used for a two (2) year Pilot in  advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in local school districts across the state.  Apple Inc. is uniquely qualified for this Apple Academic Purchase request.  Apple Inc. does not allow resellers for any Apple Academic Purchase requests, per their company guidelines.  A "Notice of Intent" for this award will be posted on the NC Department of Administration, Division of Purchase and Contract's Interactive Purchasing System (IPS) on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.  Questions resulting from this notice may be directed to Mike Beaver, Purchasing Agent III, Purchasing & Contracts Section, 919.807.3683; or michael.beaver@dpi.nc.gov.
