Prospective Teacher Scholarship Loan
The Prospective Teacher Scholarship Loan is a competitive, merit-based scholarship-loan
program available to students who have chosen to enter the education profession.
A school official such as a high school guidance counselor or principal must
recommend students for this award.
North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program
The Teaching Fellows Program provides a $6,500 per year scholarship for four
years to 500 outstanding North Carolina high school seniors. Recipients must
be legal residents of North Carolina for tuition purposes and will have met
the 12-month in-state residency requirement. Upon acceptance of the scholarship,
the student agrees to teach for four years following graduation from college
in one of North Carolina's public schools or United States Government schools
in North Carolina. If the recipient cannot repay the scholarship through
service, the loan is repaid to the State with interest.
Future Teachers of North Carolina Scholarship/Loan (FTNC)
This program provides scholarships to college juniors and seniors in schools
of education who intend to teach math, science, special education or English
as a second language in North Carolina's public schools. This two-year scholarship-loan
can be used at any North Carolina four-year institution that offers a teacher
education program.
Physical Education-Coaching Scholarship/Loan (PEC)
This program provides scholarship-loans to students who are pursuing college
degrees to become public school teachers and coaches or assistant coaches
in rural or high needs areas of the state upon graduation. Recipients will
enroll in a curriculum that advances skills in physical education and coaching
and that instills a strong motivation not only to remain in the coaching
profession but to provide leadership in the schools where they coach.
NC Association for Educational Communications and Technology (NCaect) Scholarships
NCaect is proud to offer two $2,000 scholarship opportunities. One will be
awarded to a student pursuing a graduate degree/certification in Instructional
Technology; the other to a student pursuing a graduate degree/certification
in School Library Media.
