The site will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. We ask that you DO NOT RELEASE THIS URL TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF YOUR SCHOOLS. This is a test site and information and data are subject to change. Course Weighting and GPA Calculations

At the upcoming regional small group meetings, the recent work of the Course Weighting and GPA Workgroup will be a topic of discussion. This workgroup provided a draft report on potential course weighting changes to the Chief Academic Officers of the UNC system and the Community College system, and your feedback is needed to help finalize the report. Please take a few minutes to review and consider the report recommendations. Rob Hines will lead the discussion at the regional meetings and would like input and suggestions for improvement that he can take back to the workgroup for consideration during the revisions. The draft report, originally sent to you by Rebecca Garland on Dec. 10, is included as an attachment to this message.

Public Hearings Scheduled to Receive Comments on State's Carl Perkins Career and Technical Education Act

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s Career and Technical Education Division has scheduled three public hearings and one webinar to receive comments on possible changes to the state’s Carl Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. Celebrate your school bus drivers and the importance of school bus transportation at your school by participating in the Love the Bus 2014 campaign. Did you know that traveling by school bus is also the safest way for students to get to and from school? Feb. 10-14 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Week in North Carolina and the perfect time for LOVE THE BUS celebrations. Resources and downloads are available for your use. Also register your school's event at www.ncbussafety.org/LoveTheBusNC. For more information contact Derek Graham with DPI Transportation Services at derek.graham@dpi.nc.gov.
