MESSAGES 2015 :: JANUARY 12, 2015

NC School Report Card Data Preview Begins Today

NC School Report Card: The Data Preview period for the 2013-14 version begins TODAY.

The School Report Card test site may be accessed using this link:

We ask that you DO NOT RELEASE THIS URL TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF YOUR SCHOOLS. This is a test site and information and data are subject to change.

During the data preview period, the capacity for concurrent users will be lower than when the site opens to the public. To ensure that everyone is able to view the SRC site, we are asking for your assistance. Please conduct your data review as soon as possible. DO NOT wait until the final day to access the site. If you wait, you may not be able to view the system. Also, during the 2nd week of the data preview (January 19-23) we are asking that users only log into the site on the day assigned to them according your LEA number. See the schedule below:

LEA/Charter # - Preview Access
010-199 - Tuesday, January 13
200-399 - Wednesday, January 14
400-599 - Thursday, January 15
600-799 - Friday, January 16
800-999 - Monday, January 19

Starting Tuesday, January 20, the site is open to all LEAs for final review and last minute issues, but please do not wait until that day to begin reviewing data.

How to Submit a Data Question/Issue During Data Preview:

Please note that the NC Department of Public Instruction will not accept requests for corrections from schools that did not meet deadlines for submitting data at the local level or submitted it incorrectly.

  • Please do not wait to submit all of your questions/corrections at the end of the review period. Submit your questions as you encounter them.
  • This review is for 2013-14 Report Cards data only. Issues will not be accepted for prior years' data.

School Performance Grades are not included in the School Report Cards during the data preview. To meet legislative requirements, the School Performance Grades have been embargoed until the State Board of Education meeting on February 5 and will not appear in the School Reports Cards until they go live to the public on that date.

The PDF printable versions of the school and district Report Cards (also called Snapshots) will be available from each school and district Report Card on February 5, when the site goes live to the public. A ZIP file containing PDFs for all of the schools in a district, plus the district's PDF, can be downloaded from the district Report Card.

We appreciate your commitment to the School Report Cards. Please contact me at 919.807.3690 or with any questions.
