NC Charter Schools Advisory Board Meets Next Week

The North Carolina Charter Schools Advisory Board will meet next Monday and Tuesday, March 9-10, in the 7th Floor Board Room, Education Building, 301 N. Wilmington Street, Raleigh.

Monday's meeting will be held from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. After receiving status updates on Haliwa-Saponi Tribal School, PACE Academy and Crossroads Charter High, Board members will break into two subcommittees to complete their charter application reviews for charter schools opening in 2016-17. The subcommittees will meet in the Board Room and the Board Lounge. The Board will meet as a whole at 1:45 p.m. to make its recommendations. At 2 p.m., members will begin charter application interviews for Pine Springs Preparatory Academy, Peak Charter Academy and Queen's Grant High School.

On Tuesday, the Board will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The agenda will focus on charter application interviews for charter schools opening in 2016-17, including Charlotte Classical School, Unity Classical Charter School, Forsyth Preparatory Academy, Piedmont Preparatory Academy, FernLeaf Community Charter School, Ridgeview Charter School, Gateway Charter Academy, Mallard Creek STEM Academy and Matthews-Mint Hill Charter Academy.
