McKimmon Conference Center located at 1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh, NC 27606. Training will be provided by staff with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights. Each local education agency and charter school may send two representatives to participate. BB&T Leadership Institute Free for Principals

The BB&T Leadership Institute offers an outstanding leadership development program for North Carolina Principals and it is FREE. The "Mastering Leadership Dynamics" program is a truly unique experience that I can attest to personally because I participated in the program last summer. Through a process of self-discovery, I learned not just "what" I do well and can improve on, but "why" I do it, the real key to making positive changes in my leadership. I invite you to attend and take advantage of the investment ($6950 value) BB&T is making in your professional and personal growth – you deserve it! It will make a significant difference in the way you lead your school. You can get information about the program on their website or contact Rosalind Guerrie at

PowerSchool Sale

In case you missed it last week: Many of you may have heard that Pearson is selling PowerSchool, the student information system portion of Home Base, to Vista Equity Partners, a U.S.-based private equity firm. This transaction is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2015 with a year-long transition. We do not anticipate any changes to PowerSchool operations, and you can expect to have business as usual. Please note, this transaction will not have any impact on Home Base, which includes PowerSchool and many other digital tools. If you have questions about this, please feel free to contact Rosalyn Galloway, NCDPI Home Base Manager,
