COLLABORATIVE CONFERENCE ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT (CCSA)

The Collaborative Conference for Student Achievement features a gallery of professional development and information sessions for educators, policy makers, innovators and community members with an interest in innovative practices to improve educational outcomes for students of today and tomorrow.

The conference will feature 250 sessions with tracks for K-12 learning standards, K-12 online and blended learning structures, policy, research, accountability, student engagement and more.


General Conference Information


Overview
Each year, district, school and community leaders meet at CCSA to hear from experts, meet with their peers, share ideas, brainstorm solutions, and reflect on their own practices. This conference promises to:

  • Connect you with expert leaders and practitioners from North Carolina and around the world.
  • Expand your knowledge base of best practices for 21st century educators.
  • Explore the connection between school culture and student achievement.
  • Renew your resolve to develop and promote excitement for learning.


CEUs
Registrants attending the full conference are eligible to receive a Certificate of Attendance providing 15.5 contact hours of professional development. Completion of the conference evaluation generates the certificate.

Conference Interns
Conference internships are available to undergraduate education majors from colleges and universities in North Carolina. Internship awards include conference registration, three nights of hotel accommodations, and five meals. The process for application will be posted November 1 and must be submitted by January 30.


Hotel Accommodations
The Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons/Koury Convention Center will serve as the conference headquarters. The hotel/convention center is located at 3121 High Point Road in Greensboro, NC.

The hotel features 985 guest rooms with free high-speed internet access for registered guests. The conference has secured a special rate of $134 per night (plus tax) for single or double occupancy. Reservations must be made by February 25, 2016 to obtain the conference special rate. Reservations may be secured by calling the hotel (800.242.6556) or online. Attendee code is CCSA16.


Registration/Substitutions
Online registration will open November 1. The registration fee is $175.00 per person before February 1, 2016 and $200 after February 1, 2016. Registration fees are non-refundable, however, substitutions are allowed. Contact the CCSA Hotline (919.807.3630) for additional information.


Student Involvement
The Collaborative Conference for Student Achievement seeks to showcase exemplary K-12 student performers. Performances are featured during each general session, approximately 20 minutes in length, and should incorporate application of curriculum content standards. Applications should be emailed to ccsa@dpi.nc.gov by January 15, 2016.
