FY2024-25 Budget Planning
Legislative Materials
The Governor released his budget recommendations for the General Assembly's consideration in April. You can find those posted on the Office of State Budget and Management's (OSBM) website. The Short-Session of the General Assembly convened officially in April as well. They will consider changes to the biennial budget during this session. As we find out more information we will provide updates here.

LEA Per Pupil Expense (PPE) for FY22-23
Please be aware there is an anomaly in our per pupil expenditure report that is causing an issue for some LEAs related to the comparison between per pupil expenditure data with and without child nutrition included. DPI is aware of the issue and is investigating a solution. Please keep this mind when using these data in budget planning.
The Per Pupil Expenses have been loaded in the North Carolina Public Schools Statistical Profile Website.

- ESSER Prepayment - North Carolina has revisited its stance on allowing pre-payment of subscriptions and software licenses. Prepayment of subscriptions and software licensing will be allowed with ESSER III funds. Prepayment can extend through the 2025-26 school year, not extending beyond June 30, 2026. If you have any questions regarding prepayment, please contact your regional federal program administrator.
